Bravo! So President Obama finally acknowledged that he personally endorses the rites of marriage in the GLBT community and what a week it has been. The talking heads on all sides of this (non) issue have had a field time.
My view on the three main arguments I have read and heard:
My religion does not sanction this - if your religious or moral code prohibits you, don't do it.... Who and what gives you the right to impose your religious belief on anyone else? Last I heard, our great nation was built on the premise of separation of church and state and the promise of refuge for those being persecuted in the name of religion...
Gay couples raise gay children - There is plenty of scientific evidence that sexual identity is not inducted, it is part of the existential genetic code. And even if it were true, so what? Whether someone is wired or makes a choice, their sexual identity is their business, not mine...
It was a political stunt to negate the North Carolina law....if it was then I say GREAT! The last constitutional amendment passed by the great state of NC was to ban inter-racial marriages! Do I need to say more?
I am an Ally and proud of it. If we do not combat discrimination and prejudice just because it does not affect our dimension, the day they come after our dimension, there will be no one left to fight for us, as the story goes from WWII. I chose to adopt America as my country for the freedom to be who I am and am appalled to see them being eroded by religious dogma, political hay making, general apathy and ignorance.

A Star is Born
My first blog entry...Last night my daughter, Cavya, shone brilliantly at her Junior recital....as a proud, biased father, I have to agree with all who said that she indeed has a bright future ahead of her. Her dedication, her passion and her tireless efforts add to the gift she has been blessed with.
